The loss of a loved one, whether a spouse, a parent or a child, is a devastating event to any family. In most instances, family members who have engaged us want answers. And that’s what I strive to provide them.
Why did my love one die? Could it have been prevented, or was this just an act of God that was inevitable? These are the myriad questions that families ask during these troubling times.
Ralph the Lawyer works on wrongful and accidental death cases in Florida on a contingency fee basis. That means, that if we’re not able to make a recovery for you, you will owe us nothing – no fees or costs. Also, all initial consultations to review your family’s loss is completely free, with no obligation to use our firm.
Typically, these matters involve investigations, and “turning over every rock” to see what evidence lies beneath. Figuring out just what happened, and whether this tragedy could’ve been prevented is often the most important question a family wants answered. If we should determine that your family’s loss did not occur through the negligence of others, at least you will get those answers, and that may provide some level of closure to you during this difficult process.
However, if we do determine that the death was caused by the negligence of others, we will go after those responsible with everything we have. While we can never bring your loved one back, we can seek justice in the form of monetary compensation against those responsible under Florida law.
A word of caution, wrongful death cases in Florida are not like other types of cases. Unlike personal injury case, where you typically would have four years to bring a court case, you only have two years from the date of death to bring a wrongful death action. Therefore, every death should be investigated as quickly as possible to determine whether a wrongful death action exists, and an action should be taken against those responsible within the two-year period, or you will be forever barred from doing so.
If your family has suffered a death believed to be wrongful, or even if you believe it’s just accidental, make an appointment with me as soon as possible so that I can review the facts surrounding this loss and get you the answers you deserve.
